Tour Guide

Today was a long lunch...and it was super nice of my boss' realtor wife to show me some condo/townhouses for sale in The Hills! Can't say I was overly impressed...but altogether they were pretty nice places. All with a garage.........of course!!! Pools and tennis courts around every bend. Even a Dairy Queen in the campus mall :)

Its that time again...

To hop on the rollers and get cycling!!! The cold weather has been pretty uninspirational lately...but thankfully I can still break a sweat indoors. First week will be all small chain-ring intervals to get the motion back in the legs...40 minutes a set. Followed by a week of more intense big-ring intervals and climbing simulations. With the Tour of California going on now...I'm ready to start the yearly build-up!!!

New Product

Can't really say what it is yet...but its small...fits in your pocket...and will help lots of people. We designed it late summer...hopefully should be out soon. These were just some initial first runs...the production plastic will look much better. And with the addition of an LED where that tiny hole is...it should look wayyyyyyyyyy COOL!!!

Would have liked to add some more form...but when competing with a few AA batteries...the batteries won!

Sketches!

For the longest time I've always had tons of sketches I do when teaching class. Decided to post some up from lessons this semester. I really need to create a cool slideshow for the online portfolio of sketching galore!!! Anyway...some exerts of sketch doodles from my Wednesday nights:

Light

While driving home tonight...I suddenly got a big smile on my face. During that moment...it just felt right. Good day at work...great night at class...happy thoughts in my head...a white G35 (of all things!) passing me in the left lane, and a Charlatans UK song on the stereo...

So, to totally change subjects...our bathroom at work is so nice. We at HS pride ourselves in that we have a very spacious, elegant, clean, totally white, and shower equipped room. During the past week I've been noticing some nice shadows and light taking place in the morning. The sun peeking through the blinds around 10am has produced some nice effects on the wall and tile. I tried to capture some this morning. Didn't come out as "cool" as I would have hoped...but at least something to post up :)

Progression

The below experiment started with a similar form from work. Its kind of intriguing to see how a simple ellipse (or any other shape for that matter) can be transformed into something much more. Via shading, color, the addition of a scaled down ellipse, etc.

So I began to create just a simple chart showing how these treatments can take effect. Got a little carried away and was liking the slight 3d and defined effect of "egg #5". That result is below. I really wanted to name this one...but I can't think of anything. Any ideas?
